PYO Pricing Policy

At Kenyon Hall Farm, we have been growing strawberries and other fruits since 1978, offering Pick Your Own (PYO) experiences to visitors for nearly 50 years.

Due to the seasonal nature of farming and the wide variety of crops we grow, our PYO entry prices may vary throughout the season. This page explains how and why pricing can change.

Our Crops

We grow over 15 varieties of fruit and vegetables as part of our PYO experience, including strawberries, gooseberries, currants, tayberries, raspberries, blackberries, broad beans, onions, sweetcorn, maize, and potatoes.

Each crop differs in yield, availability, and value, which can influence pricing at different times.

Seasonal Availability

PYO availability depends on natural growing conditions and may vary during the season:

  • The PYO season typically runs from June to August.
  • Crops may ripen earlier or later depending on weather conditions.
  • Availability is influenced by factors such as weather, soil conditions, and demand.
  • Visitor numbers are often higher during weekends, bank holidays, and school holidays.

Tickets and Visitor Experience

Since introducing ticketing in 2020, we have aimed to provide a safe, enjoyable, and accessible experience for all visitors.

Our ticketing system helps us to:

  • Manage visitor numbers safely
  • Ensure a good supply of fruit for all guests
  • Maintain a high-quality experience on the farm

All entry fees include a container for your picked produce.

Ticket income contributes towards staffing, crop production, and site maintenance, as well as ongoing investment in the farm.

How Our Pricing Works

Our PYO entry prices vary at different times of the season. Pricing may change based on:

  • Demand (for example, weekends, holidays, and peak times)
  • Crop availability and quality
  • The type and value of fruit available for picking

We operate peak and off-peak pricing, with higher prices typically applied during busier periods or when premium crops are at their best.

Our Approach

We are committed to keeping our pricing fair and transparent. Our goal is to balance affordability for visitors with the realities of seasonal farming and maintaining a high-quality PYO experience.
